The Phoenix Suns Are in Trouble

Bad news for Phoenix Suns fans. Superstar Amare Stoudemire could miss the rest of the regular season, after suffering a partially detached retina in his right eye Wednesday during the Suns’ win over the Clippers. Some experts saying that Amare should consider himself lucky if he is only sidelined for the remainder of the year. And injury like this could potentially be career ending.
This comes after the Suns have scored 140 and 142 points in their new uptempo, high powered offense. An offense perfectly suited for Amare. What will the Suns do now without their best player?
If the NBA season ended today, the Phoenix Suns would be the 9th seed in the West. Unfortunately for them, only the top 8 teams from each conference make the playoffs. Without about 30 games left in the regular season there is still plenty of time to make up ground… it’s just doing it without Stoudemire will be a lot harder.
Remember the Houston Rockets last year? They were able to pull off 22 wins in a row and finish the second half of the season with a 31-7 record… most of that without Yao Ming.
Now it’s up to a 35 year-old Steve Nash and a 36 year-old Shaquille O’Neal to get the job done.
How do you think the Sun season will finish? Will they rally for a playoff spot, or sink to the depths of the Western Conference?
