Four-leaf clovers, green beer, and whimsical stories of rainbows and leprechauns all adds up to St. Patrick’s Day.  Although the holiday is celebrated worldwide by the Irish, the number of non-Irish people joining in the festive traditions has significantly increased over the years.

In case you didn’t know, the real St. Patrick, or Maewyn Succat, was actually born in Scotland not Ireland, and it is in his honor we celebrate the day, hence St. Patrick’s Day.  It was meant to be a religious observance, but now common traditions include attending parades, wearing green, and drinking lots of Guinness.
