NFL Draft Results
The 2009 NFL Draft is in the books and teams are scrambling now to sign undrafted free agents (the Jaguars have signed 18 of them today!) The first round of the draft was very exciting… we saw the New York Jets trade up into the 5th spot to grab franchise quarterback Mark Sanchez. We also saw Michael Crabtree, who many experts pegged as the most talented player in the draft, fall to San Francisco at No. 10. The rest of the top 10 played out like:
(1) Lions Stafford, Matthew QB 6’2″ 225 Georgia
(2) Rams Smith, Jason OT 6’5″ 309 Baylor
(3) Chiefs Jackson, Tyson DE 6’4″ 295 LSU
(4) Seahawks Curry, Aaron OLB 6’2″ 254 Wake Forest
(5) Jets (From Browns) Sanchez, Mark QB 6’2″ 227 Southern Cal
(6) Bengals Smith, Andre OT 6’4″ 332 Alabama
(7) Raiders Heyward-Bey, Darrius WR 6’2″ 210 Maryland
(8) Jaguars Monroe, Eugene OT 6’5″ 309 Virginia
