Vince Young – He’s Back!

Have you ever seen a football player turn his career around more than what Vince Young of the Tennessee Titans is doing right now? I thought Brett Favre might be the comeback player of the year, but if Vince Young keeps this up he’s going to win it hands down. Young became the starter in Week 8 after the Titans bye and has since won 4 games in a row.

Prior to Vince Young coming in the Titans had an 0-6 record, remember they were 13-3 last year. Young was benched in the first game of 2008 in favor of Kerry Collins. Collins led the Titans to the playoffs and had them as Super Bowl favorite heading into 2009. Things fell apart though and the Titans were considered the worst team in the league. Vince Young has been a non-factor for almost 2 years and was almost out of football.

Earlier this season, Titans owner Bud Adams put the pressure on head coach Jeff Fisher to give Vince Young another chance on the field. It looks like Adams knew what he was talking about. Vince Young has won four games in a row, thrown for 623 yards, thrown 3 touchdowns and rushed for 151 yards plus a touchdown. He’s revitalized the team and their fan base.

Vince Young doesn’t have to win the remainder of his games, but I think what he has shown in the previous four weeks has earned him a chance to start the 2010 season.
