It took Andy Lopez 10 years, but he not only returned Arizona Baseball to a national stage, but has become the first coach since Jerry Kindall to win a College World Series Championship with the Wildcats. In his tenure at the University of Arizona, Kindall brought not one but three CWS crowns to UA. And now, during Lopez’s reign as Wildcats coach, Arizona has had four top-10 recruiting classes and qualified for the NCAA tournament seven times. This year, when many thought South Carolina would make a case for a three-peat, we watched as Arizona came in and swept the Gamecocks, finishing the year with a 48-17 record and a 2012 College World Series Championship.
