After what seemed like forever in the sports world; the ultimate NBA deal finally came to an end Friday, August 8, 2012. In what may be defined as a day that started a dynasty, Dwight Howard became a Los Angeles Laker. It would take four separate teams to finalize a deal that would get Howard out of Florida–the team that drafted him as the first overall pick of the 2004 NBA Draft, and hoped would be the star player that would finally bring one, if not many championships to Orlando. Yet, instead of bringing the Magic even a single NBA title, Howard will now join Lakers players Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Steve Nash on a team that already has 17 Championships under their belt. Before the Lakers add another championship to their mantle, you can celebrate the pre-dynasty with a Dwight Howard Lakers Jersey from the ultimate sports store.

‘The Deal’

It wasn’t super easy to get Superman to L.A. For their efforts, the Lakers sent All-Star center Andrew Bynum to Philadelphia, along with Jason Richardson from Orlando; while the Magic gained Al Harrington, Arron Afalo, Nikola Vucevic and Philadelphia’s 2012 #1 Draft pick Moe Harkless, as well as a 2014 first-round pick from either the Nuggets or the New York Knicks, a first-round pick from the Sixers, a 2017 first-round pick from the Lakers in 2017, a 2013 second-round pick from the Nuggets in 2013 and another second-round pick from the Lakers in 2015. If all this makes your head spin, sit down, grab a Dwight Howard Lakers T-Shirt and get ready for the long road ahead . . . to an NBA dynasty.
