There has been some talk the past few days about the Big Ten exploring expansion in the next 12-18 months. My guess is they would look to add one team so they’ll finally reach 12 teams. Then they can split the conference to two divisions and have a conference championship game. It will add an extra game to their schedule and make the conference more appealing. The PAC-10 is another conference that should look at expansion.

The Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans are sitting at 13-0 and have already clinched their divisions and the playoff spots that come with them. At 13-0, the Colts have earned homefield advantage throughout the playoffs, while the Saints still have the Vikings on their heels – but at this point it looks like the Saints will wrap up homefield too. This brings us to an important question: Should the Colts and Saints start resting players?

Florida State Seminoles head coach Bobby Bowden will announce his retirement this afternoon. Bowden has been the face of Seminoles football for 34 years and been one of the greatest ambassadors to the university. Bobby Bowden has done so much for FSU and college football in general – Nole fans will be sad to see him go.
